What do you think about building a bed headboard made ​​of pallets with a rustic and modern feel at the same time? The construction process is not complex, however we recommend you to have a clean and tidy place to work!

The tools and materials you need are: a pallet (their number or size of it depends on how big you want your headboard), wooden glue, varnish, a drill, a hammer, a sander, some plugs and screws and a leveler.

First, take the pallet and clean it with a hose to remove all the dirt.

Then, with the help of a crowbar and a hammer we are going to dismantle the pallet carefully, in order to extract all the planks without breaking them. Don’t forget to remove all the rusty nails that may remain at the planks with the help of the hammer.

Once extracted the wooden planks, we are going to align them over three slats and then fix them using screws and wooden glue, forming the basis of the headboard as we have showed in the picture.

Then polish the wood using the sander to obtain a smooth surface. When the wood has been already polished, it’s time to apply some layers of varnish to brighten our bed headboard.

And finally, we just have to choose where we want to set our new and nice headboard!

Using the leveler, and with the help of a drill and some long screws, we will set the headboard to the wall, and we will have our furniture ready to enjoy it!
