Surfer bar in Bali coated with pallet planks

In the busy Kuta, Bali, you can find in one of its streets this surfer bar-restaurant. Value Menu, hip-cool atmosphere, and some other ingredients make this bar an ideal place to be redecorated using wooden pallets. If we look at the walls and pillars, we’re not not going to find that they are made of concrete without any personality, quite the opposite, with much style dozens of pallet planks have been used  to cover them.

Emulating this idea is so easy, you just need several wooden pallets and disassemble them, this is what’s going to waste you more time. The coating has been made just cutting the planks to the needed length, using a jigsaw; then two vertical battens by side have been fixed on the pillars and walls, with the help of some screws and an electric screwdriver; finally the planks have been nailed one by one on the battens using the nails and the hammer.

As you can see in this detail, some side pillars don’t have battens, as these side planks can be nailed directly on the planks of the other side. So you will save yourself a lot of work and materials.

And what’s better than adding a surfboard to the bar, just to give to it a more “good vibrations” feel. You can use simply a wooden surfboard and spend a fortune buying it, as in the photo, or perhaps better to make it with pallets, no worries, in this post I explain how to do it 😉

Do you like this pallet bar? Do you want to look for coverings with pallets?
