Would you like to build a pallet furniture made with different levels which can be used to store and separate your laundry? It’s a very simple piece of furniture that has three plastic baskets placed at different levels. Also, if you want you can also add some wheels that will allow you to move it to any place, like the laundry or the dressing room of your house without having to take the clothes with your hands.
If you decide to create it you have to know that the estimated time to make it is from 3 to 6 hours. To start it you need the following tools and materials: 4 pallets, 3 plastic baskets, a saw, nails, a hammer, a lever, screws, wooden glue and a tape measure.
First we are going to extract 15 pallet planks with the help of a lever and a hammer. After measuring the length and the width of our baskets to know what dimensions we must give to the cabinet, in our case we have cut the planks with these dimensions: 4 of 88’9 cm (35 1/4 “) to build the body and 10 planks for the sides of 44.5 cm (17 1/2 “) that we’ll cut in a half, to finish 11 planks of 64 cm (25 1/4”) fro the top, the bottom and the back. In the next picture you can see how the furniture is configured.
Then join two planks of 44.5 cm (17 1/2 “) and 2 of 88’9 cm (35 1/4”) forming a rectangle with the help of the wooden glue and some nails, as we show you in the image below. Repeat the process again to build the opposite frame.
Then fix 6 more planks of 44.5 cm (17 1/2 “), 3 in each wooden frame at a distance of 27 cm (10 3/4 ”) from board to board. These are the lanes where we will place the baskets.
Once you have completed this step unite the both frames to create the drawer, we will post 5 planks of 64 cm (25 1/4 “) at the top creating a flat surface, and fix 2 more planks of 64 cm (25 1/4 “) at the bottom to close the furniture.
At the back we are going to set four planks also of 64 cm (25 1/4 “) this step is to help to stabilize the cabinet.
Finally, before placing the baskets, we will sand the wood with the help of a sander or the sandpaper, to obtain a smooth surface without roughness. In case you want to give it a glossier finish, you can always apply some layers of varnish or paint the furniture with the color that you like.
And presto! Now you can enjoy your new drawer very useful and functional, perfect to help you organize your laundry.
