Sophie Perez has sent us this bed headboard made of 100% with wooden pallets. She has only needed four pallets and 5 hours to build it, plus: nails, sandpaper, Wax, a saw, a drill, a hammer and a pry bar.
2 pallets have been used as the basis for the width of the bed, and the other 2 to obtain the planks that line the entire headboard.
We’ll extract the most beautiful planks and then glue them to the pallets. Sophie decided to place them unevenly obtaining the result that you see in the picture, it seems to me a good choice and it really looks very nice. The extracted planks should be placed in the pallet gaps, if there’s any plank that doesn’t fit, we can sand its sides until it fits.
Once placed the wooden planks it’s time to sand them and apply a protective wax, before we’ll nail them to the pallet structure in order to fix everything better and improve the aesthetics of the headboard.
On the back of the headboard some foam tapes have been added in order to protect the wall from possible hits. For an excellent finish the 2 pallets haven been fixed using a metal bracket.
And here you can see the result of the headboard with the bed placed in front of it, remember that the bed can also be made with pallets! The headboard can also be fixed to the wall with some screws and plugs, but it’s not necessary, as the bed can handle the headboard perfectly without any fixation. Excellent project Sophie, we liked it a lot!
