Today we show you a new piece of art and furniture made with pallets, since besides of being a useful bookcase, the creation happens to have a great design, a work of art as you can see in the picture below.
The grace of this bookcase design and what makes it so aesthetic, is that one of the shelves is displaced defying the laws of gravity, obviously not an easy change to make, it does’nt follows the usual geometry of a shelf, however the result certainly worths it.
To start this creation several wooden planks are needed, all comming from dismantled pallets. To cut to size these planks with the same measure, a good solution can be to fix them with some c-clamps and cut all in a row, in any case for doing this we’ll need a good electric saw.
As you can see in this picture, to set the shelf with the irregular slope, we also need the help of a c-clamp to temporarily unite the different planks, and will fix them with the help of wooden glue and nails.
The notches in the wood can help us to obtain a more robust mechanical linkage. As an extra detail, the creator of the cabinet has decided to add a recycling symbol on one of the wooden planks, thanks to the use of a stencil and a spray paint.
Finally, in this last picture we see in more detail how the shelf dances above the others, and how we have to fix them to achieve this solution. Remember that the top shelf must follow the same line as the first ones, and that the only one that is disengaged is the penultimate.
