Make your own sun loungers (chaise long) for your garden with recycled wooden pallets. Simple, functional and encourages recycling, all in one! You will need 3 pallets for each sun lounger that you want to build. The first step is to stack two pallets on the top of each other, you don’t need to fix them. Make sure that your remaining pallet is wide enough to use it as the back. Now you’ll have to deconstruct the remaining pallet to make the back, follow this guide if you don’t know how to do it: how to disassemble wooden pallets?
You should remove all the leftover boards as it’s shown in the photo, and cut the center bar (follow the arrow in the photo) so then you will be able to fit it into the base. Save your spare boards, later they are going to be be very useful.
Now with the boards that you have left you should support the back, cut them to fit them plane with the inclination that you want, then nail them to fix the back.
Fix the side boards to the structure of the seat to provide more strength to the all the system, exactly where the arrow is shown you have to put the screw.
This picture shows us exactly how the rear system works to sustain the back.
Finally you can give it your final touch according to your color preferences, or you can even put some cushions to have an authentic sun lounger.
