This is the solution to bring a little bit of order to your porch, a parking lot for bicycles that can be done only with 2 wooden pallets.
To fit the bicycle wheels on the base without any problems, we’ll extract the boards where the bike wheels are going to be ubicated, and then we’re going to cut 2 U’s on the pallet cross tables as you can see in the picture above.
We’ll post the other pallet vertically so we’ll be able to fit into the gaps of the pallet the bikes wheel, so the bike will be secure and would not be able to fall to the sides. We will leave a slight tilt between the pallet and the wall, so then the bicycle wheel will have more space to enter and fit into the vertical pallet.
Another interesting tip is to bevel the laterals of the boards where the bike wheel enters, this is going to make easier the park of the bicycle and also could avoid to have a flat tire with a sliver.
The bike parking lot finished is a very clean option with enough space to hold 4 bikes. If you want you don’t need to fix the pallets to the floor, but then you’ll have to watch out the pallets every month, and adjust them a little bit due to the movement of the pallets.
