First, we have extracted a wooden plank from a pallet. To give it a more old fashioned and country look to the wood, we have applied a layer of white paint, and once dry, we have sanded it creating nuances of color and texture in the surface of the wood. After we have painted a layer of brown varnish and cleaned the surface with cloth. Again we have applied a coat of white paint and sanded it. This process can be repeated on, until you achieve the desired hue. At the end we recommend painting a coat of clear varnish to add shine end to the board.

In our case, the time spent to age the wood has been of 30 minutes.

Then we have bought a template with a Christmas message with the measurements of 7.2 cm (3 ”) by 15’2cm (6 ”), but also we can do it with a computer, a printer and a cutter .

Once we have traced the letters with the pencil on the wood, we have colored them with a synthetic gold paint.

With the help of a hot glue gun, we have set the red clothespins which are going to support the Christmas cards.

And we already have our pallets support ready for Christmas! Funny and elegant, it doesn’t takes too much space and also allows us to add pictures of past Christmas parties, giving a more happy touch to our living room wall, and dressing it for these holidays.
