This is the largest house built on a tree. Designed and built by Horace Burgess, a religious pastor, he decided 25 years ago to acquire a wooded plot in Crossville, Tennessee, in order to build his house on a tree gradually. For 15 years he devoted himself to build it as big as possible, without plans, just with the help of the different trees from his land and lots of reclaimed wood, also recycled pallets.

The house measures 30 meters high, has an area of 3,000 m2, 10 levels and 80 rooms. An estimated number of 250,000 nails have been used in its construction and he has spent only $ 12,000. Known as The Minister’s Treehouse, the structure is centered around a white oak tree of 24 meters high, and other six oaks as a support. Inside the house you can also find a church and even a basketball court!
