This amazing DIY project aims us to make of our children’s bedroom a unique and magical place. Thanks to the pallets we can give to it a very special decoration, though, it requires a considerable work, but definitely worths it.
As you can see we are actually in front of 2 beds built with pallets, the purpose of them is just to sleep, but as we have seen before in this blog, with the idea that these beds look like a wooden cabin.
The wooden cottage takes advantage that the room is an attic to simplify the execution of it, because instead of having to build a whole cottage we just have to build wall and one of the 2 roofs. This also helps us to execute a more solid construction as it relies on the walls of the house.
The work itself consists of using the pallet planks to create the surfaces of the walls and the roof, both in the same way, only joining the planks and fixing the ends with other crosstabs. We will leave the necessary holes to create the doors and the windows of the cabin, with the detail of doing the same on the roof to let more light to enter into the 2 litle rooms.
It is important to give to the planks an adequate treatment, we have to consider that the pallets come from recycled origin and may be contaminated or contain wooden chips, so remember to sand and clean them properly. Later we can paint and varnish the cabin according to the colors of the room.
You must also have to build a wooden floor to insulate the matresses from it, and then just place them over it. Consider that the interior must also be equipped with bookshelves or whatever you may find useful. You can also add some curtains to give to the rooms more privacy and lower the lighting, don’t forget also to install some plugs inside.
A great idea to decorate a room, make your children happy and create two bedrooms in one without having to do great investments. Fantastic idea!
