This post continues the one  that I offered you recently where I showed some 3D plans of how to make a cabin with pallets: http://diypalletfurniture.net/pallet-houses/3d-floor-plans-and-make-a-store-or-hut-with-pallets/

Now I will explain you step by step how to build this toolshed but this time without plans, using real photos. The design is very similar to the cabin in 3D but with some slight modifications.

First to build this toolshed we need some square pallets, you can do it too with pallets of irregular measures and of any other size, but it’s better to have all the pallets of the same dimensions and with a square shape, so then the process will be easier .

To join the pallets we can use wooden boards or metal sheets (vertically ), although where is possible we can fix the pallets directly between them using long screws with washers ( horizontally).

To make the roof just order at carpenteer store some beams long enough to reach the both sides, leaving a little eave on each side to protect the walls from the rain. Before we have to fix a few tables on the side that we want to be higher, and ubicate then a beam in order to support the rest of the perpendicular beams, thanks to this slope the roof will drain the water quickly, this means less leaks.

Finally we will cover the roof structure with a rustproof metal sheet, you can buy this at any DIY store. However there are lots of solutions and materials.

The exterior has been coated with thin wood panels, they can be glued or nailed to the pallet structure. Then we’ll apply the first coat of paint, in this case a gray similar to the roof panel .

A final layer of special paint for ships will waterproof the walls, so they’ll last longer. the door can be made from purchased wood or you can order it directly with the measures that fit into the hole. Place it with some hinges .

Is it always recommended to build the foundations at the start. To make the foundations just dig a hole in the ground and place a steel bar. Then put a small formwork , in this case using concrete blocks, although it is best to do it always with some tables covered with a phenolic material. We have placed a steel plate securely fastened to the pallet structure which will remain embedded inside the concrete. Finally concrete the footing and 24-48 hours later remove the formwork.
