This fantastic project has been sent by Curt from Washington state in the USA. Curt needed a place to keep his tools for the garden, a small hut at the back of it, and inspired by this post decided to start an adventure with the wooden pallets. After taking some measures Curt and his wife decided that it would make 2,5×3,5m (8×12 feet), so he figured how many pallets he would need, got them, and started to build his project!
The floor of the cottage was placed over a base of gravel and bricks to level it, plus the floor of the house does not come into contact with the ground so it will be better insulated.
Finally the surface is topped with some wooden boards acquired at a carpenter store.
To make the walls some pallets have also been used, all linked together, always seeking for the greatest possible stability. They staggered the pallets for the walls to give it more structure but they finally end up using siding for the ultimate support.
The roof was built with wooden beams, and also a left over piece from the roof of the house where Curt and his wife live, the door comes also from recycled origin, a friend gave it to them, so the cottage building costs have finally been very low.
Curt says that soon he will begin to start new projects made with pallets, we’re waiting for them impatiently!
