A while ago I introduced you how to make a planter with pallets, specifically the one in the photo above, you can see the post where I explained this process here: http://diypalletfurniture.net/pallet-planters/build-a-planter/
I want to explain better the process so today I’m going to show you the instructions and the step by step process with several 3D plans of how to create this planter. Firstly we need five pallets as the one on the image .
Dismantle them to obtain all the boards that compose the pallets.
Cut the boards with the height of the planter, in this case I cut them by its half to make the planter of 50cm high (19.5 “)
To make the 2 larger sides, we’ll join with nails all these boards using as a framework the structural parts of the pallet, cut the piece of board that may be left over .
And to make the shorter sides we’ll do the same, but this time we’ll cut the structural boards to make it more little.
We will get 2 pieces like the one on the picture.
We’ll join the 4 sides also with nails to set the planter.
This will be the result with all the 4 pieces joined together.
The last step is to cut and nail the boards of the fifth pallet to make the base of the planter, this is the side that will be over the ground.
And here is the result of the planter totally finished, you can paint it with any protection for exterior wood. You can also make a hole in the bottom to ease the water drainage.
Finally fill it with gravel ( for the drainage ), topsoil and our favorite plants!
