Recently Alexander shared with us this project: Sofa made from pallets and skateboards, I found this project very interesting because it incorporated a new element of recycled wood to make DIY furniture, an element with more personality than the pallets, the skateboards. I asked Alexander if he had more of these creations and recently he sent me these new ideas.
It is a creation that he made for an exhibition in an art school , which combines recycling and serigraphy, on the next picture you can see these skulls made with multiple skateboards:
The serigraphy recycling stamp and the number indicates how many times that item has been recycled, with a 1 it indicates that it is the first time. An object of decoration with a very punk aesthetic, the skull reminds me the one of The Offspring, it could easily be adapted as a coat rack .
Alexander also built this stand for guitars, the design follows the pattern of another guitar stand that he built before, but this time using skateboards as the main element, as he quotes:
“I built a stand for my new guitar, which I made in one week. I built it with two skateboards, following the cut pattern of another guitar stand that I had already built. It take time to develop the design, as the wood must be cut and has to be assembled with an angle that doesn’t let the guitar to fall with its own weight, and also has to resist an accidental hit of a colleague of my band. This design has responded very well and I trust in it to hold my guitars. “
The supports for the guitar also have a foam coat made of bicycle grips, this prevents the guitar to be scratched when we left it on the guitar stand.
Alexander thank you very much and hope you soon send us new ideas made of skateboards or pallets !
