This great idea was sent to me by a good friend, the armchair has been built by his father, and certainly the fact that he is auto mechanic has something in common with the fact that he has recycled a car seat to build it, of course to support the seat he has created a base using some wooden pallets also recycled for the occasion. A good way to combine different recovered items and give them a second life.
To make this armchair its creator first had to get the seat from an old car, you can easily find one in any junkyard for a very little money, or even get one for free if you have a friend who his car has literally been dead. One of the advantages of using this type of seat is that it preserves the function to get reclined, like when it was still installed in the car, so it will be an ideal armchair to take a nap.
The seat is fixed over some wooden supports, all above a pallet cut with the width of the armchair, and the pallet is raised from the floor using two wooden blocks and a pair of wheels to make it easily movable.
On the sides he has opted for a double option, on one side we have just an armrest, made only with 3 boards and some metal brackets. On the other side we have a drawer made with several pallet boards, it has a small space where to place a lamp, and a greater one where it has been installed a little door with 2 hinges and a knob, this door hides a place where to store magazines and books for example.
Well this is the result of hours of work and an original mind, which has succeeded in giving usefulness to many different elements, and that otherwise we never would have imagined them working together. Sure this seat can also inspire you to recycle and mix curious different objects with the pallets, and develop new interesting creations.
