Instructions of how to make a sofa with 2 pallets assembling them

The concept to create this sofa is to assemble the backrest into the seat, you only need 2 pallets to do it, one for the base and one for the backrest. We are going to cut the pallets in order to assemble between them.

The first step is to get these 2 pallets, better if they are of a large size as they are going to be a sofa.

 

Cut the 2 side planks from the backrest.

 

 

 

Then cut the interior of the other pallet, this is where we will fit the backrest.

 

 

 

The next step is to cut the inner tables of the backrest bottom flap, if not the planks will hit the wooden block of the other pallet.

 

Cut a slope at the wooden blocks of the backrest in order to fit correctly the 2 structures.

 

 

 Now we can fit the 2 pieces to form the couch.

  

Here you can see the result, now we just have to raise the seat over the ground by the back, we can also use a few blocks from the pallets. The wooden planks from the backrest will sustain the structure from ahead, really clever!

A good option to improve the end of the old pallets is to use the electric hand planer, but you can also sand it. Be careful and don’t break the machine with the nails.
