Would you like to build a small table for the garden made from recyclable materials, such as the pallets, very manageable and with almost no weight? It would be perfect for drinks and snacks when we enjoy of the garden and the sunny days. It is also simple to build and is a good project for beginners. In the example that we show you below, we have used the legs of an old furniture, but you can also use pallet planks.
First, we have extracted the boards from a pallet with a hammer and a crowbar, we have also recovered some boards from a broken furniture that we had at home.
With the help of a saw we have cut 4 planks to make the legs, 4 more to make the frame of the table, and 9 wooden planks more to build the top of the table. The dimensions of the frame and the legs can be adapted according to the size that you desire and the space for the furniture.
So, we start building the framework for the top of the table, linking the planks with the help of the screws, as we show you in the following image. Then add the legs to the frame.
When we have finished the body of the table, start adding the pallet planks on the top, aligning them over the frame one by one to form a flat surface.
Now we have finished our coffee table. Then with the help of some sandpaper or a sander, we are going to sand the wood in order to obtain a smooth texture.
The we’ll print our design on a freezer paper or an adhesive transfer paper to stamp it in the center of the table, just as if it was a sticker. Then apply a few coats of a dark varnish and wait for it to dry.
We have chosen the poster of a known French perfume as a stamp.
Finally, we have painted the table legs with a blue color.
Now you can enjoy your coffee table, very suitable for the garden or the children’s room.
