This is a project table that Carlos sent us recently, it’s inspired by a table made with pallet planks that you can find on this post.
The idea is to use pallet planks in a different way, instead of putting them as a board using the face with the largest area, we place them perpendicularly to the ground, making the top table board with the planks edges, it requires much more wood consumption to make the coffee table, but the visual effect obtained is much more interesting and original than the traditional tables made of pallets.
Carlos used four pallets to build it, and the dimensions are 45x98cm (18 ” x 39 “). Carlos says that the table has a lot of work because you must first dismantle all pallets, brush all the planks one by one, and then glue them to create the table board. What’s more, then all the planks should be pressed once glued, and the top board has also to be brushed and sanded in order to obtain a 100 % smooth surface.
The legs has been made with the wooden blocks obtained after deconstructing the pallets, plus 4 wheels has been added to improve the table mobility and increase the final height of the assembly. The finish has been made with wooden wax .
